Rear-End Crash Tested to 75 mph Police Interceptor is engineered and tested to with stand a 75-mph rear-end collisionwithout a fuel tank puncture.

Rear-Wheel Drive Provides more balanced handling during extreme maneuvers. Impala has a front-wheel-drive design placing the entire drive train weight over the front wheels, which increases understeer when cornering. Unlike rear-wheel drive, front-wheel drive can cause torque steer during hard acceleration because the driving wheels are also steering.

Body-on-Frame Construction Unlike Impala and Charger,Police Interceptor uses a separate body attached to a durable and sturdy hydro formed steel frame. Impala and Charger are built with unibody construction.

Full-Size Spare Tire Allows vehicle to maintain performance capabilities when spare tire is being used and storage design provides maximum trunk space. Full-size spare tireintrudes on trunk space in Impala and Charger andis available only as an option.
